First, allow new concrete or plaster surfaces to mature properly before starting. Ensure that the wall surface is entirely clean, dry, and free from all loose particles, dust, dirt, grease, wax, mould, or fungal growth. Thoroughly rub down all surfaces using a suitable abrasive paper (sandpaper) and wipe them clean to create a flawless base. Next, prime the surface with ICI Cement Primer and allow it to dry completely overnight. To rectify cracks and smoothen out the surface, apply a mixture of one part of Dulux Velvet Touch with one part of whiting, oil-based putty, or an ICI readymade wall filler.
